The Reg Appeal - Sydney Dogs and Cats Home

We are very pleased to update that Reg has found his new home.  He has three siblings, Ollie and Coco the pugs, and Patsy, the 16 year old cat, who adores him.  His new mum Karen reports:

‘He is just such a treasure, we are totally in love with him, His pug brother and sister are so relaxed and happy around him, you would think he’s always lived with us. He is getting stronger every day, (can jump up onto my bed now!!!!!) and loves his games with the other pugs, even the old cat has fallen for him, such a charmer!!! Thank you to everyone involved in saving Reg, he will be visitor to SDCH and never forget all your kindnesses.’

We would like to thank everyone that contributed to the Reg Appeal.  He is now very clearly in a happy, loving home and living life to the fullest with three great limbs.  It is only with your support that we are able to help these wonderful animals live to their fullest potential and to find the fur-ever homes they wish for.

Tim Vasudeva writes:

Reg has been in care at my house for the past week while he waits to meet his prospective new parents.  All his stitches are now out and his incision area is healing up really well.

Although it has only been 3 weeks since he lost his leg, Reg has adapted remarkably well. He is surprisingly agile and is much quicker on his walks than my dog Flower, who ambles along at comparatively sedate pace. Reg likes to take a running leap onto the couch, where he contentedly spends much of his time (see above photo of Reg and Flower).

Today Reg was fortunate enough to be the recipient of a professional grooming session from the lovely people at Dogue in Oxford St Bondi Junction ( www.dogue.com.au ). Margaret Hennessy from Dogue is a wonderful supporter of rescue dogs and cats and she kindly donated a bath and grooming treatment to Reg so that he would be looking his best for his appointment at Pacific Magazines today (photos to follow).

Reg has an appointment at 10am on Thursday the 30 to meet his prospective new parents. We received a number of fantastic adoption applications for Reg, however we have chosen what we believe to be the home which is in his best interests. Reg’s new mum and her sister live in the inner west, own their own house and are home almost all the time. They are also existing Pug owners, so Reg will have some friendly Pug company when his new parents aren’t home.
