Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and daughter Stella at petting zoo in Hollywood
As speculation about her character's future continues to mount, Ellen Pompeo took a day out from the build-up to season eight of Grey's Anatomy to spend some quality time with her gorgeous daughter.
And it could spark a new theatrical vocation for ABC's favourite medic, as 41-year-old Ellen and Stella Luna, who turns two in September, visited a petting zoo in West Hollywood.
Pompeo, who plays the eponymous heroine of the show which returns on September 22, got to examine a myriad of varying anatomies.
But daughter Stella was particularly enamoured with a jet black rabbit.
She also cuddled up a baby goat, or a kid to use the correct term, as her famous mother placed a tender kiss upon her head.
Pompeo is remaining coy about the future of her character, Meredith Grey.
'I haven't said I'm moving on,' the 41-year-old actress told Extra. 'I said that when my contract is up after season 8 in two years, I would probably not renew. I think the world has had a lot of Meredith Grey.'
Patrick Dempsey, 45 , who plays her on-screen partner Dr Derek 'McDreamy' Shepherd, has made it clear he intends to leave.
The longtime co-stars met up in Hollywood on Friday just hours after Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes tweeted a message that read 'hope they stay', referring to the fact that both stars might leave the ABC medical drama after season eight.
She added: 'Just for the record: This is not the last season of GA. Definitely. Not,” she clarified via Twitter yesterday.
She added: 'We are NOT adding any more cast members this season. Full house already.
