Former Jackson County Sgt. Charged With Theft, Forgery
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A former Jackson County Sheriffs Deputy Sergeant is accused of claiming to work hours he did not and to pulling over drivers he did not stop. Lane Eitel, 54, of Lees Summit, was charged with four counts of forgery and three counts of theft. The Jackson County Prosecutors Office said Eitel falsified reports of working overtime. According to court documents Eitels patrol car sat in front of his home during hours he was supposed to be working overtime. The court documents also said Eitel filed false traffic tickets against nearly 50 people between Nov. 22 and Dec. 22, 2010. When the people named in the tickets were asked if Eitel pulled them over, everyone said he did not, according to court documents. The prosecutors office said Eitel resigned from the sheriffs office this month.Kansas City Traffic - News

Traffic Backs Up After Motorcycle Wreck On 50 Highway - Kansas ...
LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. -- At least one person was taken away in an ambulance after a motorcycle wreck on 50 Highway at Interstate 470 on Thursday morning.
The wreck happened around 6:30 a.m. on westbound 50 Highway at the 470 interchange near Lees Summit. It was not known how badly the motorcyclist was injured, or if anyone other than the motorcyclist was injured.
