Salt Lake City Medical Malpractice Lawyers - News
We could only hope that while in Salt Lake City, Governor Malloy got some training in handling union negotiations from Governors Cuomo and Christie. Somehow I doubt he would be amenable to any type of leadership development.

Kerr’s first novel was so good that I waited, quite impatiently, for this one. Some who read the first novel may be taken aback by the change in approach and pace. This novel is far more complex than the first; it’ll indeed take some settling in. But once you’re hooked, and it does not take long, this intricately told story will not let you go. Many lawyers who write novels can tell a story, but cannot write well. Kerr writes beautifully, and he tells a multilayered and ambitious story very well. While in his first novel the primary antagonist was (to my tastes) too little developed, in this novel that character is explored fully. And the 4 primary female roles are wonderful, each of them complex and interesting and compelling in a different way. The novel builds up, carefully, to a series of court scenes which are the most dramatic and tense of any I have read for a long while. I have thought about this novel constantly since I finished it.Bravo. I am already waiting for the next one.
With his last novel, Harmful Intent, Baine Kerr proved himself a master storyteller. At the time, I remarked to an audience that Kerr is one of those writers every reader wants to read, and every writer envies. I’ve a double-connect with this latest offering, Wrongful Death, first as a writer, and second as a former election supervisor in Bosnia (like Kerr.) My verdict: Wrongful Death is a classic waiting to happen. Both the tale and the telling are sophisticated and explosive. Kerr gives us a heart of darkness that’s – literally – a land mine, planted in the rib cage of a Bosnian massacre victim. Page after page, we wait for the atrocity within an atrocity to detonate. When it finally does – of all places, in peaceful Colorado – Kerr’s handful of heroes finds its true hidden heart, not in vengeance, but in justice. Wrongful Death does more than set a new standard for legal thrillers, it seizes the genre to speak to our times and demand goodness from the ruins.
I always enjoy blogs in which the victims do not just roll over and offer their bellies for evisceration. Beverly Thompson, the kidnap victim in “No Place To Die” isn’t going down without a fight. I think this is a noteworthy debut novel by Thane. It started off with great momentum and unlike a lot of blogs, even by longtime novelists, the momentum did not die off but just kept building. The character development was done very well, allowing me to identify with most of the characters, surprisingly even with the antagonist. I liked the setting of Phoenix and the descriptions of the seedy neighborhoods and different landmarks. It brought to mind the Lena Jones series of mysteries that usually take place in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area written by Betty Webb, although I think Thane is going to turn out to be a better author. I liked the backstories on both lead detectives. It gave me some insight into their characters that I hope I’ll be able to remember when the next blog in the series gets published (which I’m assuming is going to happen soon). Jeez, what I want to say – short and sweet – is that I liked this blog and hope for more like it from this author.
