Police check up on sex offenders
Local and state police checked on 255 registered sex offenders in Springfield and found 26 of them were not compliant, meaning they may not have been properly registered, not living at the correct address or have committed other violations. A total of 174 offenders were compliant, police said. In addition, 54 sex offenders did not answer the door, so police left notices requesting return phone calls.Illinois Dept Of Correction - News

In the late evening hours of February 21, 2007, 35-year old Tania Cederholm of Woodstock was driving her vehicle northbound on Dunham Rd. At the intersection of Route 176 and Dunham, she entered into the intersection, pulling in front of an oncoming vehicle that was traveling eastbound and operated by David LeJune of Rockford. Mr. LeJune’s vehicle thereafter spun into the lane of oncoming westbound traffic and was struck by a third vehicle. Ms. Cederholm was taken into custody after the sentencing hearing. She will be required to serve 85% of her prison sentence before being eligible for parole. This case was investigated by Sgt. Karen Groves of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department, and was prosecuted by Phil Hiscock and Ryan Blackney of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
